UN Secretary General's Scientific Advisory Board
Dr. Kuroda is a professor emeritus of Tokyo University, professor of Tokyo University of Science and a member of the United Nations Secretary General’s Scientific Advisory Board.
She specializes in chemistry, biochemistry and biophysics, and was awarded the L’Oréal-UNESCO for Women in Science Award for discovering the functional importance of the difference between left handed and right handed molecules which has wide implications including for research into neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s.
Dr Kuroda is a former Vice President of the International Council for Science (ICSU). She was elected as new Fellow of the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) in 2014.
