Hayat Sindi is a leading biotechnologist and a champion of science and technology in the Middle East. She earned a degree in pharmacology from King’s College London, UK and a PhD in biotechnology from Cambridge University.
She is co-founder and director of Diagnostics For All and also the founder and president of the Institute for Imagination and Ingenuity (i2institute).
She was awarded by HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal the ‘Mekkah Al Mukaram’ (Prize for Scientific Innovation), named one of Newsweek’s 2012 “150 Women Who Shake the World”, and was appointed UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for science education.
She is member of the UN Secretary-General’s Scientific Advisory Board, as well as the Consultative Assembly of Saudi Arabia, respectively.
