Pourquoi je participe à l'appel des consciences

Embracing the World

Mata Amritanandamayi, born on the 27th of September 1953, is a contemporary spiritual leader from India and the founder of “Embracing the World”, a humanitarian and environmental NGO based in Kerala (in south-west India). Known to all as Amma (meaning "mother" in Indian languages), she was born into the Hindu religion, but affirms that her only religion is love. Her teaching is based on the traditional paths of non-duality (advaïta vedanta) and devotion (bhakti).

She travels around the world holding gatherings during which she has already embraced 36 million people, including the former President of India, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. Her embrace (darshan) has become emblematic of her work.
